Panasonic LUMIX ZS99 Top 6 Must-Have Accessories to Buy with Your Camera

Over the years, I’ve used a variety of cameras,
and today I want to share some of the accessories I’ve been really glad I bought.

From must-have tools for shooting to protective gear for your camera,
these items have made a big difference in my photography.
They’ve also helped me keep my gear in great shape—so I could resell it at a higher price
when upgrading to a better camera.

If you’re planning your next step up, these picks are definitely worth checking out.

SD Card

When buying an SD card, what matters most isn’t whether it’s cheap or expensive—
it’s choosing one that’s best suited for your ZS99, so your camera can perform at its full potential.

That said, many beginners feel overwhelmed by all the numbers printed on SD cards,
and aren’t sure which specs really matter.

So in this post, I’ll introduce some recommended SD cards that are perfect for ZS99,
to help you make a smart and confident choice!

Points to consider when choosing

If you’re not sure which SD card to choose first, don’t worry—
I’ve narrowed it down to one key point to help you decide with confidence!

Tips for choosing
Decide the capacity based on how many photos or videos you want to take!

In short, make sure you have enough capacity so you don't run out!

I want to take good videos too

Capacity will vary greatly depending on the "scenes you want to shoot in video" and the "format." We recommend using the table as a guide when selecting capacity.

We recommend the 128GB model. You can shoot with peace of mind!

I often use continuous shooting

When shooting continuously, writing speed becomes important.

If the write speed is slow, the camera will not be able to perform to its full potential when taking continuous shots.

I want to take photos of everyday scenes

If you're going on a 3-day, 2-night trip and only plan to take still images, 32GB should be plenty.
I think 32GB is fine for starters, but if you're unsure, I recommend 64GB.

Battery pack

・You went on a trip and the battery was low. . .
・While you were taking pictures, the battery ran out and you couldn't take any pictures anymore. . .

There are situations like these.

Batteries also wear out surprisingly quickly.

It's a good idea to carry two to prevent this from happening.

I have four, and I recommend it as you can concentrate on taking pictures without worrying.

Velbon Family Tripod EX-440

You may not be able to imagine many situations in which you would use a tripod, but it is actually a very useful item.

For example, a tripod is essential for the following scenes:

  • Photographing the fantastic effects of waterfalls
  • Photographing light trails
  • Photographing fireworks
  • Photographing sunrises and sunsets
  • Photographing stars
  • Photographing night scenes

There are expensive tripods that cost thousands of yen,
but I wouldn't recommend something that expensive for a beginner.

You can buy one for as little as a few thousand yen. Even at this level, they're still quite practical, so I recommend them.

Manfrotto Mini Tripod PIXI

The EX-440 tripod introduced earlier is quite lightweight, but some people may want something lighter and easier to carry.

In that case, we recommend the PIXI.
It's very convenient to carry around.

What's more, this Manfrotto tripod can be folded up like a stick and held like a grip.

This means it's easy to use for shooting videos such as vlogs, so it really kills two birds with one stone!

This is an especially popular mini tripod.

protective film

As mentioned at the beginning, if you want to sell your camera for a high price, it's important to prevent scrapes and scratches.

This is especially important for cameras with touchscreens.

That's why we highly recommend using a screen protector.

Camera Cleaning

We recommend the K&F Concept camera cleaning kit, which also comes with a lens cleaner.

It's a three-piece set that includes a blower, cleaning pen, and cleaning cloth.

Camera sensors are very sensitive.
If there is dirt on the sensor and you wipe it with a cloth, it will get even dirtier, and you can see at a glance that something has touched the sensor.

I've had mistakes like this myself,
but you can use a blower to blow away tiny dust particles and keep it clean.

Using a cleaning pen allows you to remove dust without scratching the lens surface.

We also explain how to set up your camera, so be sure to take a look at that as well.
